Direct Student Loan Usage Form for Barnes and Noble Campus Bookstore

The One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OB3) is a federal budget reconciliation package approved by Congress on July 4, 2025, to ensure continued funding for many federal expenditures. As a result of this approved bill, we have experienced limitations within our computer software to allow charges to be available at our on-campus Barnes and Noble Bookstore.

In order to meet the needs of our students, this request form will grant us the ability to allow fund availability once we have confirmed all required steps have been met by the students; which includes acceptance of the loan offer, completion of entrance counseling and the master promissory note.

Please allow 24 hours for your request to be reviewed and processed.

We are confident that the software issues will be resolved prior to the start of Spring 2027 semester.

- I understand the requested amount will not exceed the approved award granted by the Federal Student Aid.
- I understand by signing and submitting this request form that the Direct Student Loan amount available on my student portal for the Fall 2026 semester could be reduced if I enroll in less than 12 credit hours for the semester.
- I understand that I am limited to only charging required textbooks and supplies at this time at the Barnes and Noble Campus Bookstore.
- I understand should I completly withdraw from all courses with Southern Union State Community College, I will be responsiblie for self-paying for the expenses previously billed to the Direct Student Loan for Fall 2026 semester.
- I understand funds that the usage of my loan funds will follow this order if more than one award is available: Subsidized Direct Student Loan, then Unsubsidized Direct Student Loan.
- I understand there is a 24 business hour turnaround time from the submission of the request form to the avaiablitiy at the Barnes and Noble Campus Bookstore.
- I understand I should make every attempt to retrieve all needed textbooks and supplies during one visit or online transaction with Barnes and Noble. Multiple usage requests may not be considered for approval.
