2025/2026 Presidential Honors Scholarship Application

The scholarship application and all required documents are due by close of business on March 3, 2025 at 4:30 pm CST.

The SUSCC Presidential Honors Scholarships are awarded to students graduating from high school during the 2024/2025 academic year or currently enrolled college students who would like to pursue an academic program. If you have questions regarding the application process, email suscholarship@suscc.edu.

The following must be completed for scholarship consideration:

Must have submitted a Southern Union Application for General Admissions and meet all admissions requirements. You may apply for admission online at www.suscc.edu.
Must have at least a 90 % average or higher numeric GPA
Must have a composite ACT score of at least 21, and a score of 21 or higher in English, Math, and Science.
Must attend the designated campus for the duration of the scholarship and commit to being a peer tutor for at least four (4) hours per week/2 days per week on the assigned campus in Developmental English and/or Math courses. Second-year or advanced students may be considered for Science tutoring as well.
Must submit a complete scholarship packet including all requirements listed below:

* Letter of recommendation from a counselor, teacher, etc.

* Resume listing your activities, honors, and achievements
* Academic Requirement Verification Form completed by your
high school counselor or principal
* High school transcripts (see details below)
* ACT scores
* Personal essay (see details below)

Each qualified applicant will be evaluated by the Presidential Honors Committee based on his/her academic achievement, outgoing personality, people skills, and communication skills.

You will be able to save this form if needed in order to return and upload the completed Academic Requirement Verification form signed by your Counselor/Principal. If you are planning to complete this online form at a later date, you will need to use the "Save" option. After the form is saved, an email will be sent with instructions on how to access the form at a later date. Be sure to check your SPAM folder in your email.

It will be the responsibility of the student to download and print the document below to give to the Counselor or Principal to complete. Once completed, you will need to upload the document using the option below. **This form is not required for currently enrolled college students.
