2024 Athletic Manager Scholarship Application
This scholarship is for tuition, books and course related fees. All books are on loan from the campus bookstore and must be returned each semester. Recipients must be enrolled as full-time students. Full-time status requires a minimum course load of twelve (12) credit hours per term.
- Scholarship recipients must take PED 299 their first semester. It is recommended that scholarship recipients also take HED 231 and 232.
Scholarship recipients’ duties will be set by coaching, athletic department staff, and athletic training staff. They may include, but are not limited to the following:
a. Stats and record keeping for the team
b. Upkeep and care of fields or facilities, uniforms, equipment.
c. Maintain checklist of equipment for home and away games.
d. Attendance at all team practices and games/and or meets as required
by coaching staff.
e. Assist with athletic training duties including general first aid and
athletic training room maintenance.
f. Any other duties assigned by the coaching, athletic department or
athletic training staff.
- The award may be applied toward tuition, books, and fees only.
- Scholarship recipients must maintain a semester GPA of 2.00 or above. Failure to maintain a 2.00 for any one semester will result in termination of the scholarship.
- Recipients must be students in good standing at all times. Any disciplinary action will terminate the scholarship.
- Any appeal of the termination of a scholarship must be made in writing within ten (10) days of the termination.
- Athletic Scholarship recipients are required to complete 15 hours of documented campus service per semester.
Interested students should submit all of the following documents for consideration:
- Completed scholarship application form
- A 300-500 word essay addressing the applicant's interest/experience in athletic training, sports management, or other related field and why they think they would be a good fit for the manager position.
- Two letters of recommendation from instructors, coaches, or professionals familiar with the applicant's character and academic pursuits.
